Dear Friends,
It's been such a long time I have not visited our own ONC Blog that I have created with a wonderful friend and colleague. It's also timely that I give credit to all our active committee members who have worked so hard to ensure that the ONC Fire gets rekindled by brainstorming for ideas to bring education in Oncology not only to Nurses but to people and caregivers in the Community.
Hence today Sat 19 Jan 2008 will be another big step for us Onco Nurses also as we prepare for the day's Seminar entitled "Unveiling the Hidden Trail...Addressing the Unique Challenges in Oncology Training". This seminar too would not have been successful without the continuous support of all our Sponsors. A toast to them...CHEERS !
During this Year we hope to involve more new 'blood', plan more actvities and educational forums, symposium etc with a new group of committee members who will be elected today. So whoever is at the helm will have a tough job to carry on the burning fire and unrelentless spirit of hope that we Oncology Nurses in the committee had been struggling to fulfill all these years.
I wish for 'World Peace',abundant health, love, hope and faith for all and may we continue to keep this ONC fire burning 'alive'.
Cheers :)

Hi there. Good morning friends and all. I learnt a few things from this seminar particularly during SNC Flora's talk. Its my first time hearing such talk about sexuality in managing patient with cancer and Miss Flora was very honest in delivering this topic. Thank you all for taking time to organise such talk :)Wish all friends best of health, peace and happiness always.:)
Hello there Marini, thank you for your comments and for visiting our very own ONC Blog. I am glad that after having kinda 'lost' you....you have been rekindled with the burning fire. Do visit us to leave/ share happy, sad moments, make comments/suggestions anytime. Also do let others know of the blog too. Hope to receive more comments from our nurses too. Hurray..from Eleanor Wong Wan Hua
i agree with marini!
SNM flora dealt with the topic really tactfully and interestingly. the active participation in the middle of the sharing session was really lively.
but similarly, i feel that the sharing of psychosocial needs of patients and caregivers was done really well too. i really like the table of needs presented by mrs tan which given me a better understanding of their psychosocial perspectives.
Xin Chao (Hello) Xin aka Joy,
With your kind comments too I am glad that orgnizing this Seminar with the relevant topics was worth our efforts then. Kahm Urn (means thank you in Vietnamese) from Eleanor Wan Hua Wong
Thanks Marini and Joy for your feedback...
Do hope that the Oncology Nurses in Singapore can gather together more often for sharing through interesting topics and support!
Do continue to share your thoughts...
To all dedicated Ocology Nurses

Really thank Sr Sara for your support and mentoring efforts for the many of us as we grow in maturity through the years too... Once an ONC advisor, you are always one... ;)The chinese saying goes " Having an experienced person around is like owning a precious gem" (Modified ;). The combined efforts of everyone, your knowledge and continuous contributions will bring ONC to greater height!
Many of us in ONC knows that ONC is where it is today because of the many who started it and the many who perservere when the journey gets tough and weary, And not forgetting the many who are joining us on our future endeavour. Each of you have an unique gift and our unity shall be our greatest strength.
We want to continue to remember and cherish the spirit of the oncology nurse! The nurses who contributes and makes a difference because the wholesome care and hope of our patients matter.
